How do we keep our relationship so happy?

I'm not ashamed to say that I am married to the best woman on the planet! How do we keep our relationship so happy? Here's how:

  • Since we both work, we both help with the housework. No questions asked. There are certain things that I am better at, such as cooking, and certain things that only my husband can do due to my physical disability.
  • We communicate. Rarely do we disagree, and even rarer still are our arguments. In almost 10 years together, I can count on my fingers the number of arguments we have had, and have many fingers left over.
  • We enjoy many of the same things. This comes from having been friends for almost four years before we got involved romantically. Pick a partner/mate who is your best friend, and your marriage will last.

Marriage is knowing how to compromise

I have been married for over 29 years and it has been a constant compromise. At first we really had a hard time and truthfully talking about separating. We thought we would try marriage counseling first because we still loved each other but got lost somewhere down the line.

What we both learned in marriage counseling saved our marriage . There was some things we didn't like in each other and both of us realized we would have to do some changing. He wasn't a good listener so I felt that what I had to say wasn't important. So he made the commitment to not respond till I was finished with what I had to say.

He then in turn told me he needed his own space and that he loved me but needed time to himself to do his own thing also. So we made the commitment that 1 a week we would go our own way and then once at home be together

Also financial problems really cause stress on a marriage. The way we dealt with that is we decided not to worry about things that we can not change, but to work together as a couple with things that we can change and figure a way to change them.

Now with a lot of hard work , patience and compromising we have been together almost 29 wonderful years, and still love each other like when we first met.

With that being said hope this has helped you think about what it takes to save a marriage.

Dating & Relationships - expert advice, quizzes, and dating resources.

Dating & Relationships - expert advice, quizzes, and dating resources.: "Stuck in Traffic? Why Not Find a Date!
So what do you typically do when you're bumper to bumper in a traffic jam? Turn on the radio? Speed dial your best friend on the cell phone? Read the same billboard over and over? You probably never considered finding a date. Well, thanks to a new dating site, Flirting in Traffic, you can now make idle chit chat while you're idling in traffic.

Here's how it works... site members place stickers with IDs on their bumpers. If you see someone you like, you simply jot down their ID number, look them up on the Flirting in Traffic website, and make your love connection.

So the next time you see someone cute in the next lane you won't have to spend the rest of your life wondering if they're the one that got away. Instead you can look them up and score yourself a first date. Who knows, maybe that first date will lead to a second date, and eventually you'll be popping the question.

Given you met in traffic, how about a road trip for your honeymoon!"
